Sugar Land Chiropractor: Dr. Derek Maxson
"I was living on medications. . . and I was only 13!"
Dr. Derek Maxson first experienced chiropractic's extraordinary healing benefits after suffering from sinus problems and "all year long" allergies for as long as he could remember.
"I had my tonsils and adenoids removed, saw doctor after doctor, and received thorough allergy testing. I was living in a fog of medication because no one could do anything about my problems. I experienced immediate relief after my very first adjustment. For the the first time EVER I could breathe through my nose. With continued chiropractic care I was able to alleviate all of my sinus and allergy issues. I knew there had to be something to this chiropractic thing!"
Dr. Maxson received his Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and Doctorate of Chiropractic from the prestigious Parker Chiropractic College in Dallas, Texas. During his study at Parker College his courses focused on human anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, radiology, neurology, and chiropractic adjusting techniques. After graduating, he worked in a busy chiropractic office in Pearland, Texas. Wanting to be closer to home and ready to "get patients healthier and happier" in his own office, Dr. Maxson opened Maxson Wellness in Sugar Land in 2006.
"My purpose is to help as many people possible to get well naturally. It's what fuels my fire. Whether it's helping someone get out of pain, helping another with their sinuses and allergies, getting rid of horrible migraines, or eliminating pesky ear infections - I love to see the amazing things that chiropractic can do!"
Dr. Maxson is married to Khristina and has three children: Hanna, Luke and Tanner. He loves to do anything outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Dr. Maxson recently "caught the running bug" and completed his first marathon. He looks forward to many more.
