By nature, I am a fixer. After graduating college, making lattes, driving forklifts, and a brief and surprisingly enjoyable stint with accounts receivable, I decided to pursue a talent, hunch, and long time interest in the healing arts. When told by my instructor that massage therapists don't "fix" anyone but rather allow the body to heal itself, I realized this is my calling. Because of my parents and their education and lifestyle practices, I have always had an awareness and interest in nutrition and healthy, natural ways to improve the wellness of people's mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical areas of their lives. We so easily compartmentalize these as if we can have one without the other. Each one of these aspects affects the other. None of them stand alone. Chiropractic care and massage are a beautiful marriage of the holistic healing; improving your posture, helping manage and decrease pain, strengthening your immune system, and over all helping you control stress. Therein lies the inspiration and excitement to work alongside Dr. Maxson to help you have the best, happiest, and healthiest life possible!

Dr. Derek Asks some important questions of interest to Sugar Land residents - Chiropractor Sugar Land Dr. Derek Asks...

What's your plan to deal with drug-resistant 'super germs'?
Chiropractors have always been concerned with the indiscriminate use of antibiotics, accelerating the mutation of microbes that make "wonder" drugs increasingly ineffective. My strategy? Do everything possible to bolster my immune system through proper diet, rest, exercise, clean air, pure water and an optimally functioning nervous system with regular chiropractic care.
Can a chiropractor heal?
There's never been a case in which a doctor (chiropractor or otherwise) has formed scar tissue, mended a broken bone or cured a headache. Only you can do that. Turns out you're the doctor! All I do is help remove interferences to your body's healing ability. Ready to get started? Call our office today.
